EXAMPLES BELOW FOR COLOR COMBOS AND PLANTING OPTIONS
STEP 1
(Cutting the sides, top/bottom & back)
Head to your local Hardware store and pick out the wood pieces and materials above. Use the template below and cut all the pieces you will need to the specific sizes. For the "Sides" and "Top/Bottom" of the Address Sign, use the 1" x 2" x 8'. For the "Back" of the Address Sign, use the 1" x 6" x 6'. If you purchase this from your local hardware store, it will typically be 5.5" wide. If it is not, you will need to cut it to size. You can leave it blank or add a pattern. The one we used is a premade UV/Weatherproof PVC which can be purchased here.
*SEE TEMPLATE BELOW FOR CUTS
STEP 2
(Building the planter)
Use the template below and cut all the pieces you will need to the specific sizes for the Planter. Use the 1" x 6" x 6' for the planter "Sides" and "Top/Bottom" . If you purchase this from your local hardware store, it will typically be 5.5" wide. If it is not, you will need to cut the pieces to size.
*SEE TEMPLATE BELOW FOR CUTS
STEP 3
(Attaching the sides and top/bottom to the back)
Once you have all the pieces cut, it is now time to assemble. Start with the back and line up the sides on a flat table. Add a line of glue to the sides, push against the back and use nails or a nail gun to attach. Repeat for the top and bottom .
*If you want to paint or stain your address sign a different color, we recommend doing it before you attach the sides.
STEP 4
(Building and attach the Planter)
Using the same process for the planter, line up the sides, and glue (see picture above) and attach to the bottom using nails or nail gun. Then flip over and add the front.
Once you have this together, let it dry and then you can attach it to the sign. Using 1.25" screws, pre drill the holes on the back and then screw through to attach the planter. If you do not want to use screws, use glue and let it dry.
STEP 4
(Adding Your Address and Flowers)
Congrats!!! You finished building your Address sign planter and now it's the fun part. If you plan on hanging it, attach your preferred hanger on the back. If you have your own address numbers, you can attach them on the front along with adding fake or real flowers. See our Address Numbers below and our faux flowers here for some different options.
